EVERYDAY ADVENTURES

A happier walk starts with a little prep.

A happy golden retriever in the afternoon sunshine

The best part of the day might be waiting right outside your door. A little preparation helps make your next walk comfortable for both ends of the leash.

Pack the everyday essentials.

A well-fitting harness or collar, a sturdy leash, waste bags, fresh water, and a few small treats are a great start. Check that your dog’s identification is up to date.

Let their nose lead sometimes.

A walk doesn’t have to be a race. Safe sniffing stops give dogs a chance to explore and make a familiar route interesting again. Stay aware of traffic, discarded food, and unfamiliar animals.

Read the weather.

On hot days, choose cooler hours and shaded routes. Pavement can become too hot for paws. Adapt the length and pace to your dog’s age, health, and comfort, and turn back if they seem tired.

Bring home a happy dog.

Finish with fresh water and a quiet place to rest. Sometimes a little neighborhood loop is all the adventure a day needs.
